Tuesday 26 October from 7pm to 8pm
The photographer Sandrine Elberg and the emerging photographers 2021 of the 1+2 Residence, Myriem Karim and Laure Winants, will meet for an original round table on the theme of “Photography and Science”, present in the works of each of them.
Guests:
- Sandrine Elberg, photographer and visual artist
- Myriem Karim, emerging photographer 2021 of the 1+2 Residence
- Laure Winants, emerging photographer 2021 of the 1+2 Residence
Through her works, Sandrine Elberg invites us to dream and to question the concrete and scientific aspect of the photographic medium.
In the continuity of Franz Shrader’s invention of the orograph (a tool for drawing relief), Myriem Karim explores the links between topographical knowledge of a territory and the perception of space that photography offers. She is interested in the landscape evolution of the Pyrenean Cirques of Gavarnie, Troumouse and Estaubé by probing our way of being-in-the-world.
Setting out to meet the mountains, Laure Winants focuses on the traces that climatic fluctuations and dynamics draw on the earth and on matter. Adopting a committed approach, she takes the data out of the laboratories and places them in the public debate, thus allowing herself transgressions, metaphors, counterpoints and winks.
Moderator: Philippe Guionie, Director of the Résidence 1+2
Since its creation in 2015, the Résidence 1+2 has been promoting the place of women in its programmes and facilitating their reception in residence. It fights against stereotypes and sexism and participates in the creation of an inclusive society.
