FACTORY 2021 – Saison Africa 2020

Factory #7 - Caroline Gueye

The « 1+2 Factory » is a system of photographic residencies in institutions, territories and/or companies. Over a given period of time, a photographer will offer his or her authorial perspective by creating a new work on the entity concerned, revisiting its history, its territory, its operating methods, its production and its know-how.

As part of the Saison Africa 2020, in partnership with Toulouse métropole and the Cité de l’espace, we are pleased to welcome the Franco-Togolese-Senegalese astrophysicist and visual artist, Caroline Gueye for a residency.  Her residency will take place in February 2021 on the theme of space and the future. The restitution of her work will be inaugurated next March at the Cité de l’espace (Toulouse).

Information: With more than 200 events organised throughout metropolitan France and in the overseas territories, the Africa2020 Season will run from December 2020 to July 2021. Designed to be a platform for learning and participatory knowledge production, the Africa 2020 Season will focus on science, innovation and technology. The Focus Sciences, in partnership with networks and professional organisations from the African continent, will be deployed in Toulouse with Africa sciences, an art and science hub supported by Toulouse Métropole, Africlap, the Cité de l’Espace, the Résidence 1+2, the Toulouse Museum, the Quai des Savoirs, Chercheurs d’Autres, the Urbain Vitry vocational school and the Parisian publishing house Présence Africaine.
